People should start from wherever possible. Most activists happen to on the far left. You can not dismiss them because they are not mainstream. They are very effective in what they do.

The only language the terrorist mullahs, their thugs, their international backers (e.g, the Russians, and the left over commies) understand is the language of bombs, missiles, and more bombs. The era of diplomacy and reason is over. Let's bomd the mullahs into oblivion and in the process if Qom, Mashahd, and their suppporters are destroyed, I would say so what?

Thank You for the wonderful summery. I fully agree that we should not hide any truth about Iran but that should go for Israel and USA too.

You say you disagree with the assertion that "Bush is more dangerous than Ahmadinejad." Bush has killed more than 100,000 Iraqis, close to 2500 American troops, has taken thousands of slave-like political prisoners and made the world a more dangerous place. This is just what the Bush administration has done directly, I'm not even counting indirect American political/economic action in Israel, Latin America and central Asia. But, can you seriously say that Ahmadinejad has this much blood on his hands?

You talk about truth, so I challenge you to do an objective, scientific comparison.

Response t previous comment:

Hey Qumars B. , Kharr Khodeti. Ahamdinejad, his Rahbar Khamenie and the rest of the Mullah Gang have commited at least over a 1,000,000 murder directly and indirectly in Iran. In case the previous commenter has had a bad case of amnesia, I would like to remind him of the crimes the mullahs have inflicted upon Iranians and the whole world for that matter:

1) tens of thousands of murder in 1979 against the peole who were affiliated with the previous regime

2) tens of thousands of muders against Mujahedin and the leftist groups

3) Instigating the iraqies to the point that they invaded iran and that resulted in over a 1000000 casualties on both sides

4) Teerorist bombings and actions against the Israelis and the Americans

5) The list goes on and on...

You guys are a bunch of fvcking hypocrites.

Whatever "American" / "Israeli" or how ever you choose to betray Iran this week.

YOU are incapable of an objective assessment, and civil discourse for that matter. The issue was who is more dangerous between "Ahmadinejad" and "Bush." You don't have a single death that is attributable to Ahmadinejad (there are some, but you don't know them.) But even if you unilaterally widen the definition, you still lose the argument. Many of the deaths you bring up are more America's fault than the Mullah's. Who funded Saddam Hussein and gave him Sattellite pictures of Iranian concentrations? Who sold him chemical weapons? Who paid for all the bombs he dropped on Tehran? Who funded the MEK terrorists? Whatabout all the civilians they killed?

The Mullah's??? You REALLY don't know the meaning of "objective".

I'm sorry but you have a deranged view of causality and are obviously ideologically married to a dogmatic world view. The hate and anger is oozing out of your words. And you call the Mullah's fanatics? God help us all if extremists like you ever take charge.

I'm not interested in talking to you, so sorry if I don't respond again.

The only "objet" one sees is the long and thick chomagh inserted in your ass hole by the criminal mullahs which has impacted your thinking process. Now, that is objective!

I was one of the participants in Dr. Edalata's session in SF. I would like to make the following points:

a. I am always confused when someone mentions the "left" in a wide brush way. Yes, there are some people who wear their political leanings on their sleeves - T shirts, hats, buttons, etc. My experience in the American society is there is more than meets the eye, and the people do not easily fit the blue or red boxes that we are shown on TV. I have personally talked to retired military people at the Admiral rank, and venture capitalists in suits who are anti-war. These people clearly think that Bush has hurt the US interests by starting a war devastating war in Iraq. The same people like Bush's estate tax cuts and other policies. So the matter is more complex than it seems from the academia.

b. Your stats about the 70% agreeing with Bush's excuses to invade Iraq are ancient history my friend. I am not a numbers man, but thank you know who that we have Google. Here's a good place to start http://www.pollingreport.com/iraq.htm

c. There are a heck of lot of documented human rights violations as well as allegations, accusations, half-truths and gossips out there about Iran and the Iranian government depending who you ask and whose interests are being served. Discussing these issues goes beyond the scope of my post here. But as that American saying goes, we should keep our eyes on the ball. At the moment the ball is a war-of-choice which, as that Iranian saying goes, khoshk va tar ra misouzanad. In this context, Dr. Edalat's aim was to focus our attention on doing our best to prevent it. A khaneman barandaz war in Iran, please don’t even think it will be surgical and limited – there are no such wars, will invigorate the existing cabal in Iran tremendously. This eventual, but preventable, illegal war will free up the hands of the extremists to get rid of any vestiges of the "civil society" in Iran and impose their "final solution", which they have been itching to implement but have not been able to for variety of reasons. I’ll leave it up to doostan to draw their own conclusions. Let’s hope we will have many more get togethers like the one we had in SF the other night.

I am worried sick about the idea of attacking Iran. I am not in favor of Ahmadinejad and I am not happy with so much economic corruption that exists in today's iran. I am not happy with the daily economic struggle of the majority of the people who live in Iran. I am fully aware of the mismanagement in that country. All that said, I don't agree USA, Israel, or any other government has the right to attack Iran. If Iran's nuclear activities are worrying anyone, why is the whole world quiet about thousands of nuclear bombs that Israel has in stocks? If nuclear bombs are bad, why has Bush been spending so much money on building even more bombs?
I believe these war monsters are after other things than iran's need for democracy or iran's danger to the world. In fact iran despite all its internal problems has been a stablizing factor in the region. i hope iranians of all backgrounds and with any aspirations stand up to the crazy war mongers, and don't let our native country become yet another Iraq. It is all because of Iran's oil. I found the following article very interesting:

http://www.teamliberty.net/id209.html

The following article scares me:

http://rense.com/general69/rrn.htm

Is this all nothing but a psychological war against us Iranians?

At the end, I just want to make a wish, that Ahmadinejad would just shut his mouth and stop saying what is already obvious. Zionism is Racism. Who can deny that? But for a president of a country with so much problems to deal with internally, coming out and making remarks like that, is that a sign of being the "people's man"? Whose interests is Ahmadinejad serving? Taliban were saying harsh and stupid things too right before Bush attacked them. I am worried about all this. God help us!

Thank you for your article on Dr. Edalat session in SF. Your points are balancved and realistic. I am all for not covering up and not fo justifications and rationalization to boost our cause. Preemptive attack on a country is so condemned that we can work against it while we tell th etruth about the nature of the Islamic Republic as well. Thank you again for your effiorts.

Rajavi jon,

You "eat the bread according to its going rate". At first you were an Islamist, then turned Marxist and killed half your team. When Saddam bombed Iranians, you became his pusher or rather prostitute! Lately you have been in bed with Israeli generals, becoming their mouthpiece on Iran's nuclear research. Your paid members have been working around the clock kissing American senators' ass trying to get your remaining ass off the State Department's list of terrorists.

Please drill this into your ears: No matter how disgusted Iranians become with Akhoonds, one thing is clear that they have no use for you and your elk. By the way, say hi to Maryam joon, the next time you two are in bed deciding whose ass to kiss next.

But regardless of what I have done in the past and will do in the future one thing is clear and that is the end of the mullahs is very near.
